Wood imitating leather. Leather buttons
similar to this were popular on men's sports coats from the 1930s through
the early 1960s. I would guess that this button dates to the 1950s.

I love the personality of this realistic-shaped
fish. Finish is a paint and laquer. Metal loop

hand-painted wood button -- a studio button by Claribel Peacher of
Carmichael, California. She no longer makes buttons. Measures
1-5/16" at it's widest for an NBS Large. Sew through.
